Greater Orlando Actors Theatre Announces New Permanent Home
Winter Park, Florida, June 8, 2009 - Greater Orlando Actors Theatre, "A New Home for Great Theatre," has a new permanent location. GOAT has signed a three year lease to occupy the building at 669 Cherry Street in Winter Park. The building is just off Fairbanks Avenue, less than one-half mile from the I-4 Fairbanks exit. It is within walking distance of dozens of Fairbanks Avenue merchants, restaurants, and other entertainment. Extensive free parking is available up and down Cherry Street.
The building itself, of which GOAT is the sole tenant, is divided between a furnished area and a large warehouse that will be used for performances. The office space on the north side of the building will include the theatre's lobby and box office, rehearsal space, GOAT offices, actor's green room, and rooms for upcoming acting classes and voice lessons. The south side of the building will house the theatre and will seat up to 100 patrons depending on audience and stage configuration.
GOAT will be hosting an open house/Cabaret night/party to introduce our new space on Saturday, July 4th. More information will be available on this event soon.
GOAT's first production in the new theatre will be inspired by the warehouse nature of the unfinished space. We will be presenting the first Orlando production in many years of Quentin Tarantino's film classic, "Reservoir Dogs."
"Reservoir Dogs" will open Friday, July 10th and run for three weekends until July 25th on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
