Greater Orlando Actors Theatre Presents "Proof" By David Auburn
Orlando, Florida, January 12, 2009 - Greater Orlando Actors Theatre (GOAT) presents the 2001 Pulitzer Prize winning drama, "Proof" by David Auburn. The show opens on Friday February 6, 2009 and recurs weekly through Saturday, December 21, 2008. Performances are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays. There will be a special Industry Night performance on Monday Feburary 9th, 2009. All shows, including Sundays, have an 8:00pm start time. Doors open at 7:30pm. Performances are held at the GOAT theatre space, located at 1013 East Colonial Drive in Orlando. (Next to the 'Cruises Only' building. One block west of Mills Ave.)
Catherine, a troubled young woman has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, she must deal with the volatile emotions triggered by his death. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: Will she inherit her father’s genius…or his madness?
The Cast includes Sarah Lockard, Ashland Thomas, Tara Corless and Rick Sotis. Directed by Leesa Halstead.
In addition, GOAT will continue their weekly Open Mic/Cabaret on Saturday nights during the run of the show. The Open Mic/Cabaret will begin at 10pm after Proof and will be included in the price of admission to the show.

ABOUT GREATER ORLANDO ACTORS THEATRE - G.O.A.T. was founded in 2007 and kicked off its inaugural season with Neil Simon's The Odd Couple which became a critically acclaimed hit. They followed up with Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap and then teamed up with Real Radio 104.1's Shannon Burke in presenting A.R. Gurney's Love Letters. G.O.A.T then went to the 2008 Orlando International Fringe Festival presenting David Strauss' Amanda's Mix Tape. In the current season at our new location, we have presented critically acclaimed runs of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and the musical Godspell. G.O.A.T. is run by a board of directors and is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization.
