Greater Orlando Actors Theatre Announces Auditions For "Proof"

Orlando, Florida, December 22, 2008 - Greater Orlando Actors Theatre (GOAT) will be holding auditions for the play "Proof," by David Auburn, on Friday January 2, 2009 at the theatre located at 1013 E Colonial Dr. Orlando 32803 (one block west of Mills Ave) from 7pm to 10pm.

Those auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, a monologue under two minutes and be prepared to read from the script.

Leesa Halstead will direct. The show dates are: February 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20 & 21.

Roles available:

Catherine - Age 22-30 (must look 25)
Robert - Age 50-60
Claire - Age 25-30
Hal - Age 22-30

Synopsis: Catherine, a troubled young woman has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, she must deal with the volatile emotions triggered by his death. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: Will she inherit her father's genius…or his madness?

ABOUT GREATER ORLANDO ACTORS THEATRE - G.O.A.T. was founded in 2007 and kicked off its inaugural season with Neil Simon's The Odd Couple which became a critically acclaimed hit. They followed up with Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap and then teamed up with Real Radio 104.1's Shannon Burke in presenting A.R. Gurney's Love Letters. G.O.A.T then went to the 2008 Orlando International Fringe Festival presenting David Strauss' Amanda's Mix Tape. In the current season at our new location, we have presented critically acclaimed runs of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and the musical Godspell. G.O.A.T. is run by a board of directors and is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization.
